SERVICE CONTRACT

Our Burner Protection Plan provides for the repair or replacement of any or all of the following parts:

There will be no charge for service calls on all covered parts listed above , even after our regular business hours, provided your heating equipment is not making heat. All parts and labor on non-covered items will be billed at existing rates.

Once we receive this contract back to our office signed, we will place your account on automatic delivery if you are not on it already. With automatic delivery, we come to your home automatically and fill your tank.

Exclusions Service Contracts do not cover:

1. Malfunctions due to:
   • Switches left off.
   • Failure to fill manually fed boilers or flush low water cut-offs weekly.
   • Blown fuses.
   • Electrical failures unrelated to the heating system.
   • Oil or water valves left off.
   • Flooded cellars and systems freeze-ups even if due to failure of a covered part.
2. Antifreeze.
3. Complete replacement of oil burner, boiler, furnace, combustion chamber or heat exchanger.
4. Air conditioning equipment.
5. Clock thermostats.
6. Heat and hot water distribution systems and their accessories except items listed in water part option.
7. Tankless coils, gaskets, and related labor.
8. Oil tank - unless covered by Tank Guard.
9. Draft inducers and power vent's.
10. Wood or coal units and their related parts.
11. Burner service required due to failure of adequate fuel supply or your delivery being held due to unsatisfactory credit status.
12. This plan does not cover, and we are not responsible for, any damages, including environmental damage arising out of any leakage or spillage from any oil lines, oil tanks or any other part of you heating system.
13. Water storage tanks.
14. Parts or labor required as a result of abnormal conditions such as water damage, fire, flood, freezing, war, hurricane, or other acts of God, power failure, fuel run out when account is delinquent, failure to check water level, damage of loss resulting from delays or failure to render services for reasons beyond our control and/or customer negligence.
15. This contract does not insure against fuel storage leakage or any damages to persons or property resulting from tank leakage.  The customer shall be responsible for the condition of the fuel tank and any burner related problems directly resulting from poor conditions of the fuel tank.  It is the customer's responsibility to comply with all laws requiring notice to government agencies or officials in the event of a leak from said tank.

Terms and Conditions:

1. This plan is effective for one year from invoice date and will be renewed annually, subject to Jeff's Oil rights to modify the plan, price and/or terms effective on the anniversary date.

2. We reserve the right to inspect and approve the heating system prior to issuing a contract.  Improperly installed equipment not meeting state or local codes can not be covered.  Repair, if authorized, would be done at prevailing rates.

3. This plan covers only residential systems fired at 3.0 gallons per hour or less.  Other systems (over 3.0 gallons per hour) are subject to increased rates available upon inspection.

4. Terms of this agreement are for a period of twelve months from the date of invoice and will renew automatically each successive year unless either party gives notice prior to the renewal date.

5. All replacement parts are subject to availability.

6. Labor is covered only for the repair and replacement of covered parts.

7. Service work not covered under this contract will be billed at time and material at the current hourly rate.

8. Routine maintenance will be performed during regular working hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday.

9. We will not accept liability for:

   • Any work performed on heating equipment other than by our own technicians or others authorized by us.

   • Any direct or indirect injury, damage or resulting failure of the oil burner, associated equipment or dwelling due to an act of God, unavoidable delays, fires, abuse, neglect or any cause beyond our control.

Emergency Service

Winter Schedule:

November 1 thru April 1 - Twenty Four (24) hours a day Monday thru Friday excluding holidays. 

• Any service required after 4 PM weekdays or on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays must be the result of complete mechanical failure of the unit.  Any other service call received during this time period will be billed at the hourly rate in effect at that time.

Summer Schedule:

April 2 thru October 31 - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday excluding holidays.

• Any service required after 4:00 PM on weekdays, Saturday, Sunday, or Holidays will be billed at our overtime rate.

Before requesting an emergency service call - Please check the items on the following troubleshooting list:

1. Check to ensure that the emergency switch is on. (Usually located at top of cellar stairs and near the equipment).

2. Check the circuit breaker or fuse is not blown or tripped.

3. Check that the thermostat is set above room temperature.

4. Check to see that the water level is in operating range.  (Steam systems only).

5. Make sure you have oil in your tank.

6. Press the 'reset button' on relay ONLY ONCE, making sure that the burner actually fires.
